THE WHITE HOUSE
WASHINGTON
Warm greetings to everyone celebrating the tenth anniversary of the Narrative Television Network.
Few innovations of this century have had so profound an effect on our lives and imagination as television. It has given us an extraordinary means of communicating with one another, drawing communities closer and reminding us how much we need and can learn from one another. Today, thanks to NTN, millions of blind and visually impaired people can now share this experience by enjoying access to television programs, movies, home videos, and other entertainment.
For ten years, NTN has helped our nation to achieve its goal of integrating people with disabilities into every aspect of our national life. Much remains to be done if we are to achieve the independence, inclusion, and empowerment of all people with disabilities, and I commend the men and women of NTN for your leadership in this endeavor. I am confident that, working together, we can realize our shared goal of an America where everyone has the opportunity to live out his or her dreams.
Best wishes for a memorable anniversary celebration and for continued success.
